Functional Roles for SAP Modules

  • AM Functional: Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP AM to manage day-to-day accounting of property items throughout their lifecycle including acquisition, transfers and retirement; maintain and manage fixed asset expenditures against funding authorizations, including the management and reporting of CPP authorizations/authority; execute periodic processing activities for monthly depreciation and mass changes to asset master records; perform year end closing of asset accounting; transfer of assets within / between cost centers; and perform and record the results of the physical inventory of fixed asset property items.
  • APO Functional: Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP APO to execute demand forecasting and supply planning to drive recommendations for buy-repair plans, disposals, and redistribution of assets from one stock location to another. Knowledge of allowancing processes needed. Must have experience working with MM and FI modules to integrate functionality as well as experience assisting with the developing external interfaces.
  • CO Functional: Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP CO to manage the Navy's flow of cost and revenue including assignment and management of cost and activity planning functions, assignment, and management of overhead allocation functions; view actual costs by cost object (cost center, internal order, WBS, etc.); view/manage variances between planned cost and actual cost; generation of government reports such as DONIBIS and SSR.
  • FI Functional: Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP FI to automate the management and external reporting of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management; manage posting periods and period end closing; and enable open and integrated data flow between financial account and the other components of the SAP system.
  • FM Functional: Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP FM to process transactions associated with budget entry, supplements, transfers, returns, funds reservations, funds commitments, budgetary ledger, special purpose ledger, and budget version planning; perform year end close; and enable automatic availability control/checking; reconcile differences between AVC and FM ledgers.
  • MM Functional (Inventory Management/ Warehouse Management): Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP MM to manage and record inventory and goods movements at the Inventory Management and Warehouse Management levels including storage of material, physical inventory, carcass tracking and reconciliation analysis of stock in transit, MRL and MRIL data, and goods receipt and verification against purchase orders and inbound deliveries. Must also have experience designing functionality to manage employee workload and warehouse operations. Experience working with hazardous material is required for some billets.
  • MM Functional (Order Fulfillment): Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP SD including: sales orders routing and data flow; definition of sales order types; material determination/listing and exclusion, output determination, requisitioner variants, sourcing implications on order fulfillment options, automatic materials release, global ATP Check integration/interfaces, backorder management, manual sales order processing rules, processing of CASREP and NMICs/PMIC requisitions, MOV process, bounceback procedures, Auto PPR/PIR/BPR maintenance and SMA/CWT.
  • MM Functional (Procurement): Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP MM and SD to procure goods and services by converting a buy-repair plan, sales order, or third-party request to a purchase request (PR) within SAP; process and convert PRs to purchase orders through commercial contracting, purchase card, MILSTRIP for Navy/DLA purchase, or buyer funding document sent to another government agency; record obligations; and process invoices. Must have experience working with FI and SD modules to integrate functionality as well as experience assisting with the interface designs to communicate with external vendors (i.e., DAAS, ITIMP).
  • PS Functional: Provide business process guidance on Navy ERP’s SAP requirements and design. Responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing SAP Project System solutions to meet our Navy client’s needs in areas surrounding project planning, budgeting, actual postings, settlements, and PS reporting; and in enabling open and integrated data flow between financial account and the other components of the SAP system.
  • S&D Functional (Finance): Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP SD to create and process sales orders including development of quotations, orders, and invoices and subsequent billing runs. Must have expertise integrating with MM, FI, and FM to integrate functionality.
  • Supply SCM Functional: Provide technical guidance on requirements and design to support Navy ERP including enhancement/updates/upgrade of technical infrastructure architecture (e.g. hardware, software, network, data components, etc.) for SAP ERP operating environment. Requires experience in leading workshops, designing, and deploying technical solutions in support of TDL development. Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • Supply SMD Functional: Provide business process guidance on SAP requirements and design. Responsible for designing/configuring business processes in SAP. Requires strong organization and communication skills and knowledge of SAP functional areas, especially the MM module. Introduces innovative approaches and methodologies for processes and support systems.
  • WFM Functional: Experience in designing/configuring business processes in SAP HR to handle personnel administration (i.e., awards, leave and training requests), personnel time management (i.e., personnel time recording, civilian time and attendance, interfaces to payroll, military muster), employee self-service/manager's desk top (i.e., leave requests, contact information, time approval, workflow), display and management of organizational structures, personnel development (individual development plan creation and monitoring, civilian appraisals/awards, qualification/certification profiles), and training and events management.
